It's a girl! This is Bill Marriott. This morning at 10:40 my wonderful daughter-in-law Carrie and son David had a beautiful baby girl, seven pounds, one ounce. They have two boys and now they have a little girl. Her brother Jack, when informed about this wonderful event, said "She'll love me Daddy." Jack is three.
So, family is kind of what it is all about. Last night we had a great celebration. The American Lodging and Hotel Association honored me with their Heritage Award. All our family was there and all our family performed. They got up and told jokes about the old man, talked a lot about our family history and the history of our company, and we were celebrated in great style. It all comes down to the great importance of family and the great blessings we have as a result of having our families support and sustain us in all that we do.
And when I look at our Marriott corporation, I really do believe that this is one big family. We try to treat our people like members of the family and they, in-kind, respond like good members of a family do. Thanks for listening. This is Bill Marriott. I'm doing my best to keep Marriott moving forward with a new grandchild.

This is wonderful news - a truly blessed experience - to behold. I was recently also blessed with my 1st little wonder - no one can prepare you for this life changing experience. All is well on my front - I hope the same is true for you.
Good luck and enjoy your little bundle!

Hello Mr. Marriott, great blog and Congratulations. Does your organization have a brand that is child or baby friendly? Any chance of other amenities for infants besides a crib, like perhaps toys or a little playroom? I ask because I am looking for a hotel to stay in for a day or 2. I am travelling with my 14 month infant and it will take us about 12 hours to get to L.A., then we'll need to rest, then travel for another 18 hours. My husband is a Marriott Rewards member but he won't be with us on this trip.
Nevertheless I will still do my homework and call someone from your organization. Many thanks, more power, and Happy Easter.

President Marriott... Congratulations on the birth of your new grandchild. What a blessing! Through the years I've learned so much from your values, your example, and your professionalism. We just returned from a week at Canyon Villas in PHX (we own 4 MVCI properties) and just enjoyed it so much. Great staff!

Congratulations on your precious new granddaughter. We are traveling this weekend to Brooklyn to see our precious five month old granddaughter and staying at the Brooklyn Marriott. Great Place. Loved Little Brother's thoughts. That should be written down as a keepsake.

Congratulations! My wife and I just had our first daughter 9 weeks ago - what an amazing experience! I traveled to Las Vegas last week for business and stayed at the Courtyard Marriott off the strip(always stay at Marriott's, platinum member)...I got more sleep in Vegas than I have been getting at home...go figure.

Congratulations, Mr. Marriot. I hope to be a grandfather soon myself. Speaking of family, I wanted to relay some well deserved kudos to Debbie at the North Carolina Piper Glen Residence Inn. The recent storm stranded a young family member in Charlotte. One call to Debbbie and she arranged a room and transportation from the airport for him. We all slept more soundly knowing he was safe and rested for the night. I won't stay anywhere else then a Marriot hotel when traveling in the future. Best Wishes to you and your helpful, caring staff. Kindest regards, Fred Bostrom, Franklin MA.

Congratulations Mr. Marriott! I think when a baby is born into this world, that moment is the most beautiful and preciuos time of anyone's lives. I hope you'll play alot of Mozart and Haydn to your grand child for this really helps the baby to listen to all kinds of sounds around them. I have three children and they have been listening to the classical music before they were even born. Congratulations grand-pa!

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. Family is the ESSENCE of happiness. A family that vacations together bonds forever. We look forward to passing a Legacy of Awesome Vacations at Marriott through out timeshare. Maybe, finally the cousins can bond when we siblings vacation together. God Bless.
