I like Marriott properties but your rates have usually kept me away unless I find a good deal. I'm planning on going to Denver in November and reserved a room at a Westin because Marriott rates were too high. I live in Lakeland Florida and this offer is great for us. The price break is great. I've been a platinum premier Marriott Rewards member for years and these days what is keeping me from booking Marriott properties isn't price as much as corporate relations. My employer has recently been acquired by a global computer company that has delisted most Marriott properties from the hotel list in their in-house travel booking system. It makes me sad.

Dear Mr. Marriott,
Just last week my husband and I visited Rapid City, South Dakota, and stayed for 5 nights at the Fairfield Inn & Suites located at 1314 N. Elk Vale Road. This was our first visit to South Dakota and I must say that the staff at the Fairfield Inn were wonderful. I especially would like to express our thanks to Jeremie for all of his help and recommendations during our stay. We asked Jeremie many questions every evening for suggestions about things to do, driving directions, restaurants, etc. After we came home, I thought about Jeremie and just wanted to let you know how lucky you are to have an employee like Jeremie - he always had a smile for us and was so very kind. If you have any type of employee recognition, I hope you keep Jeremie in mind. Thank you!

Mr. Marriott, Thank you for having a 20% sale. My parents enjoy coming to Atlanta and staying at the JW at Lenox. I am writing though with a slight problem regarding my account newsletters. Everytime I get one announcing these wonderful deals, none of the links work. I have to spend lots of time getting to the Marriott site and looking rather than being able to follow the special links. Since the guest services link didn't work, I thought you might be able to get someone on this. I have in fact asked about this before. Thank you for all you do for the industry!

In 1949 the year that I finished High Sch., My family visited Washington D.C. Our friends that lived there took us on a tour and made a big point of the
Marriott restuarants, and motels. He believed that Marriott would really go places with their approach and ethics.
I believe that he underestimated what the Marriott family would accomplish. The son of very dear friends is now married to your daughter and I did have the priviledge of meeting you and your wife at your daughter's wedding party and once at church when you were with your father..

Mr. Marriott, that's really a nice offer. I'm not sure if we'll be able to take advantage of it or not - but we'll be staying in a total of 3 Marriott properties on our next trip, which starts in a week, and we're looking forward to it. We'll be in a Marriott property every night we're gone. After this trip, we'll have enough points to once again stay in your wonderful County Hall property in London for a week!

Very good idea. I think that your post implies a good point that the hotel industry has not worn away its competitive margins through exclusive use of specials, as cereals did in the 80s and 90s and as American car companies have done in the last few years. Rather, we have found ways to be innovative and to also offer to share with our guests the burden of increased prices and depressed demand while not squeezing the pleasure out of The Hotel Experience. Deals like this are great for everyone.

as an Marriott ' owner ' we always enjoy are stays with the Hotels and resorts , we will be going to Kauai in November , i wish , with flights as expensive as they are now ,that Marriott could offer flight deals as well as hotel specials ....
