Today we're celebrating the 20th anniversary of the opening of our JW Marriott Hotel in Hong Kong. It was our very first hotel in Asia and has been one of our flagship hotels there for the past two decades. It has always been a beautiful hotel, but now that it has completed its latest renovation, it is more stunning than ever before.
When we selected the site, I was always impressed with the harbor views. Hong Kong has an amazing harbor. The activity in the harbor and the skyline on the other side is something that is unforgettable. It's always been a big thrill to visit Hong Kong.
In addition to providing our guests with world-class accommodations, the hotel has raised the bar for our food and beverage operations throughout the world. The hotel's restaurants are very busy and popular with locals, as well as our hotel guests. In fact, their JW's California restaurant was named one of the "Best Restaurants in Hong Kong 2008" by the Hong Kong's Best Restaurants Guide.
Back in 1989, Asia was uncharted territory for us, but it is now one of our most rapidly growing markets. We currently have 107 hotels from 7 brands in Asia and expect to have almost 60 more open by the end of 2014.
I'd certainly like to congratulate all of our associates at the JW Marriott Hong Kong on 20 terrific years and all the best to you for a very bright future.
I'm Bill Marriott and thanks for helping me keep Marriott on the move.

I want to thank you and your team at the Town Place Suites in Fenton Mo. Your front desk employee picked up on one comment which was made on a previous stay, and when I checked in on 3/2 I was not only surprised but also amazed. The employee heard the comment relating to my special dietary needs and how the grab and go breakfast did not fit my needs. The Marriot team had gone out and purchased and placed in my room the special items that addressed my needs. I was AMAZED! I want to say thank you to the local team and the corporate team which trains your local management teams. This single action by Fenton Team has stenghtened my brand loyality to Marriott. Thank you again to all who were involved, directly or indirectly, including the trainers and developers of the customer service progams.

Dear Mr. Marriott:
I just listened to your celebration of the JW Marriott in Hong Kong. Congratulations on this success. Perhaps for the celebration of my 65th birthday in July, I will stay at that hotel. What a way to celebrate! Meanwhile, I actually am writing you to tell you what an outstanding stay I had at the Cincinnati Marriott Northeast in Mason Ohio. It was a business trip for me and filled with stresses--new clients, time demands, illness, computer problems...you name it, I seemed to have had it. The Marriott staff was outstanding, meeting and anticipating my every needs and wants. I could not have wanted more. I was constantly amazed at how focused they were at determining what would help me feel comfortable, do my work better--and even grow my business! I stayed on the Concierge floor, too. I found meeting fellow business travelers so much better than just staying in my room. And, they shared with me their views of the labor market. Since I do all types of work related to employability, this kind of information was really helpful.
So, bravo to Marriott! I look forward to more frequent stays at the Marriotts as I build a business that is much needed in these economic times.

Dear Mr. Marriott,
Congratulations and many happy returns. I loved the outside designing. It's enchanting how the blue sky and clouds are reflected off of the exterior of the hotel. Quite a heavenly peaceful look. Again, all the best.

I have pleasant memories from my multiple stays at JW Marriott Hong Kong. I stayed in a, well maintained, spacious junior suite with a great view of the Hong Kong Harbor. The view is enhanced at night with all the lights and passing boats. The outdoor pool and the Jacuzzi, on a high floor, have a city view of the skyline. I remember one the best stocked executive lounges with a lot of western and Asian food varieties. The staff was quick to replenish the appetizers and deserts. The hotel is conveniently located above the shopping mall. It compares favorably with newer JW Marriott's in Shanghai and Beijing, where I have stayed more recently. JW Marriott in Shanghai had a better service when John N. ran the hotel. Of course this is a relative statement as all of the full service Marriott's, including the Renaissance Brand, in China have excellent service.
