Get Slimed On Your Next Family Vacation Courtesy of Nickelodeon and Marriott

June 9, 2009

MarriottsAndSponge1 You may remember a blog I did awhile ago about getting slimed when Marriott announced we would be working with Nickelodeon.  While it was a pretty messy experience, it was an honor and something I'll never forget.  Since then, many people have asked me what it felt like, and now, everyone can find out for themselves!

Working with Nickelodeon, we've created a family-friendly entertainment program called Nickelodeon Getaway that will be rolled out at some of our hotels and resorts this summer.  The program offers lots of fun activities for families like evening "dive-in" movies by the pool and breakfast with popular Nickelodeon characters like Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants!

Our first two hotels to offer the program are our JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, Arizona, and our JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort in Tucson, Arizona.  And soon, other properties like our Doral Resort in Miami, the Marco Island Marriott Resort in Florida and other hotels in California, Mexico, Aruba and even China will be offering the Nickelodeon Getaway program also.

I had the chance to get a little preview of the program when I was in Arizona earlier this spring.  My son David brought his two little boys out to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort where they were introduced to SpongeBob SquarePants and they got slimed.  Andrew is 7 and Jack is 5.  Andrew was very brave, but Jack had to have his dad help him out.  It was great fun for them and they want to go back.

Spending time with my family is important to me.  And, families are important guests for us. That's why we want to make sure they have a great experience when they vacation with us.

You can see more about the Nickelodeon Getaway program on YouTube or by checking out www.nickelodeongetaway.com.

I'm Bill Marriott and thanks for helping me keep Marriott on the move.

Marriot is to expensive and out of my reach to spend my vacations in.

Nickelodeon itself was already performed around Asia but now the popular kids cartoon is ben 10.

cute video!

Sir,I have worked with Marriotts in the past and feel that this company has lot of depth of tradition.Having said that I think it also has the right blend of mordrenization that is required and expected by todays guests expectation.
I am sure and hope that your new initiative meets success and becomes a trend in Hospitality entertainment arena.
Best of luck....!
Shaukat.
