My first stop in London and will be visiting the St. Pancras train station where next year we’ll be opening St. Pancras London, A Renaissance Hotel. I’m a history buff, and I’m thrilled to be opening a hotel at such an historic site. The Victorian building that will house our hotel first opened in 1873 and is classified as Grade 1 English Heritage, meaning we will follow special procedures set forth by English Heritage as we restore and renovate this beautiful and historic building.
After London, I’ll make my way over to Paris and Amsterdam, and then I’m meeting my family to start on a cruise from Athens, Greece. We’ll cruise up the Dalmatian coast and visit many new and exciting places. I’m really excited about being with my family on this new and unique adventure.
I will try to blog during my travels, so be sure to check back soon for updates. What are your summer travel plans this year? Leave me a comment and share them with me.
I’m Bill Marriott and thanks for helping me keep Marriott on the move.
Taking in Some History and Spending Time with Family Across the Pond

Dear Mr. Marriott
While we also visit London from time to time we naturally attempt to stay at a different property each time. In November/December we too shall be crossing the pond and one of our stays will be at Chancery Court which as you know is probably one of your stellar properties within London.
I say this from the view of both a guest and investor, that your manager Theresa represents you and the company with such excellence. It would be worthwhile for whomever you appoint to be GM at St. Pancras to perhaps spend some time with Ms. *** who in our view truly understands what "guest relations" is all about.
Our very best wishes for continued success to you, your company and Ms. ***

Dear Mr. Marriott,
I am a huge fan of Marriott.
Years ago I worked at Corp. in the Interior Design Dept. I was young and single then. I am now married with two young children. My perspective of how a room "works" is now through different "eyes". (The eyes of a parent.) We love to travel. If you ever desire reviews or comments about rooms/Hotels please just email us!

I hope you will travel to Marriott Santa Clara, CA.
This may not be the largest property, but it's definitely the "jewel" of our many hotels.
The management and staff are beyond words to describe for customer service.
Your staff is truly the best!
P.S. Parcel 104 is a great restaurant

We, too, had the pleasure of meeting you during your visit to the Marble Arch Marriott in London last week. It was quite the surprise to see you there - of all the Marriotts in the world - when we were and appreciate the personal photo. The staff we spoke to after your visit had nothing but good things to say about your family owned business.
As for the Marble Arch hotel itself and staff, we have to say we were a bit disappointed. Marriott Park Lane was our first choice, but told it didn't have rooms with double beds(?) that could accomodate a family of 4.
Sincerely,
Sharon & Steven Spinney

Dear Mr Marriott
The Renaissance St Pancras will, I'm sure be as stunning as the building itself. I can't wait to stay there. May i suggest you visit the Marriott West India Quay (Canary Wharf) London, in the heart of the city financial area. This is my favourite Marriott in London, superbly managed with the most amazing staff. The executive lounge is wonderful with stunning views over the internal waterways of the West India Quay dock. This is the sister hotel to the Marriott Downtown in New York, which is also superbly run, though I feel the closure of their swimming pool and sauna to be a great loss as the pool especially was a unique feature to any Marriott in NYC. Anyway, come to London, enjoy it's diverse attractions, take in a west end show and visit the Marriott Canary Wharf.

Dear Mr. Marriott,
My family and I were staying at the Paris Defense West hotel when you stopped in to say hello to the staff on Sunday, June 26th. We wanted to let you know that the staff were some of the most friendly, warm and genuine folks we have ever encountered at any hotel. Of course, Marriott is always our first choice when traveling in the US or abroad.
Sincerely,

Mr Marriott,
I work for Merck and recently attended a sales meeting for the company at your new resort in San Antonio, Tx. Let me first say it is one of the most beautiful and impressive facilities I have ever been at in my life...and I have travelled the world.
Secondly, I want to commend your company's obvious attention to customer service and, specifically, key account management. On my second day at the event, I received a pleasant "welcome package" in my room consisting of a bowl of pretzels and three ice cold Carona's. This surprise was accompanied by a welcome card signed by Kelly Fay who is Marriott's Global Account lead for Merck.
Kelly is a cousin of my wife and I have known her for years. But, what was most impressive is she must have combed through all 550 names of attendees from Merck to find me (p.s. she had no idea I was at the conference)...and then had the presence of mind to send a "welcome back to Marriott" present. I have to tell you, I am a senior executive myself and, as you well know, crave for employees that take positive initiatives such as this to build a world class brand and secure customer loyalty for life.
You certainly have one in Kelly Fay.

Mr. Marriott, have you research opening a hotel in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands? Grand Turk will be a great place for a Fairfield Suites as there are no major hotels there yet but a huge cruise port.

I love Europe. My husband is military retired and we spent four years in Germany. I also spent time there as a child, as my father was also military. I know you and your family will have a grand time.

I love luxury hotels. I love the discussion about Renaissance here. So to premium life, premium hotels I always enjoyed coffee. But normal coffee is not that healthy and makes me tyred. But I found somethings, say a friend recommended to me a very powerful coffee. For all who enjoy the good life as I do I recommend a new very healthy antioxidant coffee: http://www.asantae-coffee.blogspot.com/ http://www.asantae-coffee.com/ thank you, please do give me some feedback, Chris

Dear Mr. Marriot,
we are looking forward to welcoming you in Europe.
Our family have chosen Sicily for this summer holiday. After a looong winter and slow starting summer - sun and high tempratures are surely needed.
Best wishes from Denmark.

Hello Bill, I'm a hotel developer of 15 years and will be checking into the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco on July 16 with my extended family. Looking forward to seeing the new Courtyard lobby design in operation, and plan to stop in to several other area hotels, including the Ritz Carlton, to get some inspiration for my next project, and of course see the sights around town with the family. My family is already accustomed to dealing with me and my hotel tours as part of any of our travels. They don't mind. Ed M.

Dear Mr. Marriott -
Thank you so much for taking the time to blog for us! We love being able to follow your thoughts and travels, and those portions of your life you so graciously share with us. We are most grateful for you, and all you do.
My family and I will be headed to Idaho Falls this summer, and again at Christmas - where we hope someday a full-service Marriott will be built. Then, next spring, to DisneyWorld Florida!
I wish you safe and enjoyable travels!

Hoping to visit Chicago and see a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. I'll probably stay at the O'Hare Marriott.

Dear Mr. Marriott,
This posting refers to a hotel located in Dublin just "down the road" from London. I think you will enjoy the note I send to the general manager of the Shelbourne.
---------------------------
Dear Mr. Doyle,
I checked into the Shelbourne on 14 June and out on 17 June. I suspect many travelers are only too eager to communicate when things go wrong -- and don't provide feedback when everything goes right. My 3-night stay at your hotel, as a guest of Datalex, was exceptional. Specifically I wish to volunteer the following observations:
1. The front desk staff was efficient, friendly, professional and readily available.
2. All areas of the hotel were well maintained, tidy, and clean.
3. The cake treat at the front desk is a nice touch.
4. My room was "just right" with a wonderful wide screen television, great shower head, and an air conditioning unit that kept the room nicely cool at night.
5. The bed was perfect - - the only thing missing was the presence of my wife. :-)
6. Breakfast was hot, tasty, savory, and fresh. The service level was very high with coffee instantly offered and plates quickly cleared.
7. Every wake up call was exactly on time and provided by human offering a good morning greeting.
There are three elements outside of your control - - and even these were enjoyable. First, the hotel's location is absolutely prime. Second, the weather was blue sky and warm. And last but not least, the kindness of the Irish never fails to impress.
I am a lucky guest to have stayed at such a fine hotel staffed by such exceptional people.
All the best,
Jay Sorensen
