My career began in the restaurant business. As the company transitioned over to hotels, I never wanted to lose those roots. To this day when I visit a hotel, I often go straight to the kitchen to see what’s cooking.

I’m often asked to compile a list of my favorite places to eat. It’s tough to do, like picking my favorite child. I guess I love them all. I’ll probably get in trouble for this, but I want to share some of my favorite meals with you:
Order the Tomahawk Ribeye at JW Steakhouse in London at the Grosvenor House.
You’ll love the New England Sea Scallops at 606 Congress in the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel.
The Brasserie Lipp at the JW Marriott Mexico City makes a decadent dessert, the good old Hot Chocolate Soufflé.
At BLT Steak at Camelback Inn, I recommend ordering kobe and don’t miss out on a popover.
At the Renaissance Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, be sure to order one of the tasting menus at Mercat a la Planxa.

Burgers at The Hook Up at Los Suenos Marriott in Costa Rica were great! Loved the salads at HOYO 19 overlooking the golf course and looking for monkeys was unbelievable! Thank you, Bill!

I would strongly recommend Osteria Pronto at the new J.W. Marriott in downtown Indianapolis, as well as Circle City Grill in the nearby Downtown Marriott. The filet mignon at the latter, served butterfly style, is excellent. Everything on the former's menu has been outstanding. I also have to agree with the earlier blogger's recommendation about the West End Bistro of Eric Lippert at the Ritz Carlton in D.C. My personal favorite there was the fish burger with aioli sauce.

Lamb chops at the Kings' Wharf at the Linclolnshire Marriott Resort north of Chicago. The best.

I am hoping that Bill Marriott or someone that can recognize staff actually gets to read and pass on this comment: I am just completing a lengthy stay at the new JW Marriott in Chandigarh, India. To sum up my feelings about this hotel and in particular it's staff, I would say "BRAVO!". I travel the world for business, stay in many fine hotels, and this is the first time I have sought out the Chairman of a hotel chain to tell him what a wonderful job the staff of the JWM in Chandigarh is doing. From the doorman, security, bellstaff & concierge, to the registration and mgmt, to the hostesses, servers, and chefs in the JW Cafe'/Lobby Bar/Executive Lounge/Saffron and Oregano restaurants, and the caring housekeepers and valets, I say thank you! EVERYONE has been so warm and welcoming and eager to take care of every detail and guest desire, showing a real servant attitude. I will be returning, as I do often to Chandigarh, to the JW Marriott and will be committing to many room nights for our traveling staff under the corporate rate program. I look forward to my next trip and stay at the JW Marriott-Chandigarh! Again, I say "BRAVO!". Thanks so much for the blog Bill, and the opportunity to comment!

Mr. Marriott, I'll be celebrating 25 years working for Marriott in January 2012. I travel quite a bit with my family. In any foreign lands, my son gets so excited when he orders a Marriott Burger!

The crab cakes are awesome at the Westend Bistro by Eric Ripert. It's part of the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC.

Love the Corn and Crab Chowder on a cold Denver day at JW's Second Home. The mozzarella topped burger was pretty amazing too!

Whenever I travel, I can count on Marriott providing the best cheesburger in town. Just want you need when on the road and tired of local fare, especially internationally. Keep up the great work.

One of the most enjoyable meals I ever experienced was a room service breakfast at Camelback Inn. I was there on business so alone. I ordered a french toast that came with thick bacon and fresh berries and real maple syrup. It also came with a bowl of fresh fruit and I ordered a small pot of coffee. The food was just great and sitting on my patio overlooking the North Garden before the heat of the summer day was just great! I have a photo of that meal (before I ate it) on my office wall!

He's not lying! I remember working at the Long Island Marriott and Bill came through the kitchen at 5:30am to just say hello and offer some words of encouragement and thanks! As a result anytime I walk into my operation I always go to the kitchen first. You can tell alot about whats going on in the rest of the place there.

Whenever I want to impress friends or a client, I arrange for a lunch or dinner at Summer Winter at the Burlington Marriott. You are never rushed, service is grand, and the pleasant atmosphere allows you to enjoy the delicious food and drink and conversation with your guests.
I am planning another visit soon to celebrate the 65th birthday of a good friend.
