Visiting with our terrific associates at the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC

Today our company was recognized on FORTUNE’s list of “100 Best Companies to Work For.”  We’ve made the list before. In fact, Marriott has now been on this list every single year since it was first introduced back in 1998. Of the many recognitions our company receives throughout the year, this is one of the most meaningful for me personally. The most important factor in making the list is associate feedback – how the men and women who wear the Marriott badge everyday feel about inclusion, opportunity and camaraderie in the workplace. Making the list means the company’s philosophy of “putting people first,” which dates back to 1927 when my parents first started this company, has endured and is just as relevant today as it was nearly 90 years ago.

At Marriott we strive to build a workplace that welcomes people as they are and applauds them for where they’re going. All people deserve to be valued and appreciated, no matter where they are in the world or the language they speak.

Our “take care” culture is the foundation to everything we do—from leadership training programs to wellbeing initiatives to community involvement. That’s why embracing change and adopting new and better ways for people to find opportunities and grow their skills is essential to our company’s success. Ask any Marriott associate about our company philosophy and they will tell you, “If you take care of your associates, they will take care of the customers and the customers will come back.”

Our dedication to putting people first was just as strong as it was when our company began and it hasn’t wavered since. It’s an honor to be on FORTUNE’s list for 20 years in a row. And it’s my absolute privilege to have worked alongside so many wonderful men and women who share a passion for exceptional service.

I’m Bill Marriott and thanks for helping me keep Marriott on the move.

I highly recommend the Marriott company to work for. I've been with he company for 20 yrs and I must say it has been the most fun and caring company to work for, I left for a year and started working as a teacher assistance but I was not hapy at all, I found out the hard way my heart was with Marriott company.

Working at Marriott gave me the chance to balance life and work. At Marriott they understand you do have a life outside of the job. I would like to thank everyone at Marriott for just being that person behind the company and standing up for what Marriott believes in. I Love my job

Proud to be part of the Marriott Family... What a wonderful company to be part of and pray all I do will help guests have a great experience while at Marriott Hotels.

After my son was born with seizure's, wheelchair bound, non-verbal and developmental delay. I thought I would never be able to work again. See, I'm his only one he has to care for him. No job will hire me,I always thought. We will struggle always I imagined. With me running him to doctor appts or EMG hospital stays no job will take me.Stayed in my mind. A lady at church prayed for me to find a good job and the Good Lord lead me to Marriott. Now I'm able to work from home and if I have a doctor apt I trade my shift with another co-worker. Marriott has been a true blessing for me and my son. -Thank you Mariott. -Forever yours!

I love my job. I am one step away from having all my dreams come true.

I love working for Marriott and definitely believe this is one of the best companies to work for!!!

I am so proud to call Marriott my new home. It's postings like this that really give you a sense of pride. I have only been working for Marriott for 7 months but after researching hotels I found that this brand stood out for that very reason. It placed people first. I've been in management for over 35 years and recently changed career fields because the major retail pharmaceutical company I worked for forgot that. It wasn't people first but profits first and that was why I left after 15 years of service. I have always believed that if you treat your people fairly they will take care of you and the rest. I see the company as a 3 legged stool. If you remove one of the legs the stool can not stand. Our people out on the line and in the back are one of those legs and they need and deserve our support. Thank you Mr. Marriott for never forgetting that. John Maxwell said "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way" I appreciate you restoring my faith in that principal.
